Our Parish
Rooted in the Syro-Malankara tradition.
St. Mary’s Malankara Catholic Church of South Florida is part of the Syro-Malankara Major Archiepiscopal Church. This church is in full communion with the Bishop of Rome. The mission was started by faithful Catholic Malankarites from Kerala, India. In Malayalam, the church is known as the Syro-Malankara Catholica Sabha or Malankara Suriani Catholica Sabha. Another name associated with the church is the Malankara Syrian Catholic Church of India.
Our Church is built on the principles and teaching of the Universal Catholic Church, carrying forward the vision of the Malankara Catholic Church reunion movement started by the Servant of God, the late Archbishop Geevarghese Mar Ivanios. The Church continues to grow through the prayers and leadership of its faithful and shepherds.
The Malankara Catholic Church continues to grow in North America under the guidance of His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Philipose Mar Stephanos.
The members of this small church take pride in keeping and practicing the Malankara Catholic faith, teaching the traditions of Kerala passed on by our loved ones, and preserving the feeling of a small family in our community.
St. Mary’s presently gathers at Nativity Catholic Church, 5220 Johnson St, Hollywood, FL 33021.
